SARAH MEREDITH LIVINGSTON
Sarah Meredith Livingston, mezzo-soprano, has performed as soloist and recitalist throughout the Midwestern United States, and eastern and western Europe. She holds B.S. and B.M.E degrees from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, M. M. from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, 2 year diploma from the Hochschule fur Musik, Hamburg, Germany, and D.M.A. from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. Ms. Meredith Livingston is currently Professor of Music/Women and Gender Studies/Global Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She serves as an active international adjudicator throughout the Midwest, USA, as well as at the Dvorak International Voice Competition, Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, Schneider-Trnavsky International Voice Competition, Trnava, Slovakia, Central European Festival and the Regional Metropolitan Auditions. She is the founder/director of the first and only Czech/Slovak International Voice Competition held in the United States. The competition will take place on the UWGB campus, October, 2017, for the 8th time.
Ms. Meredith Livingston also was invited to teach at the well-known Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy, sponsored by the Metropolitan Opera and was selected to be on the Fulbright Senior Specialist Roster until 2015. During this time she was invited to teach and perform at the University of Sao Paulo-Brasil five times and developed a travel course for UW-Green Bay music students. She was also the recipient of the Bronze Award from the Del Bianco Foundation, Florence, Italy, recognizing her international work with singers and music faculty across the world.
Ms. Meredith Livingston maintains a private studio in Door County and is looking forward to teaching at Crescent Studios. She lives outside of Sturgeon Bay with her husband, Jay, and dog, Bubba. Together they have three grown children, Christian, TJ, and Katarine.
